I paint pictures that tell stories of my life growing up as an inner city kid; going through pain and trauma and eventually addiction as I got older. They are gritty, painful, nostalgic, chaotic, manic and raw. When I was a teenager I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar 1. Dealing with these two severe illnesses are an intense, every day battle that I have to face. My paintings offer a relatable story to those suffering with mental illness, letting the viewer know that they are not alone in the tangle of unusual and intense emotions. The juxtaposition between certain pieces illustrates the story of ever changing emotions, manic highs, and muted depressive lows. My work ultimately is an epitaph to the human condition.
